Barcode
Barcode EPS-Files and templates for printing
Right from the introduction of barcoding in Europe, Gebrueder Mayer was involved in the technology.
Our first products consisted of films for the printing industry which helped to meet the high quality requirements for barcode printing.
We developed our own software for controlling our photoplotters in order to achieve the required bar tolerance of the film masters of 5 my. The CCG (the German umbrella organization of EAN) subsequently awarded us with the CCG certificate for standard-compliant films.
In recent years, our customers have increasingly requested to be supplied with data sets that can be integrated directly into the layout, making assembly work obsolete.
Today, we supply over 90% of our codes no longer in the form of film, but as EPS files. This format displays the barcode bars in vector format and is a prerequisite for the barcode data being reproduced with the highest possible accuracy.
Additionally, the delivery of codes via e-mail allowed a massive reduction in rollout times.
There is a vast number of different barcodes available: EAN, UPC, 2/5 interleaved, 2/5 industry, PZN, Code 39, Code 128, EAN 128, various additional codes, ZIP, Weber, etc.
To date, we have been able to implement any code that customers have requested.
